Virtual Gateway Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Profile Updates & Transition
Effective Sunday, October 20, 2024, the Virtual Gateway (VG) is implementing changes to ensure that the VG and the recently implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) profile updates via Azure are synchronized. As of October 20, the VG will require that profile changes to the user’s first name, last name, and email address must only be submitted via the Azure “Account Settings” page (https://my.mass.gov/api/auth/login/business). Users will no longer be able to update this information in the VG “Manage My Account” page.
Currently, users can update their first name, last name, and email address via Azure, and are strongly encouraged to continue to use that method to update these specific profile attributes. Any user who has made a profile update to their first name, middle initial, last name, and email address in the VG “Manage My Account” page since May 2024 should also update Azure prior to 10/20/24 to ensure the modifications are included.
MassHealth will no longer accept Data Collection Form requests seeking updates to the primary user's email address. Users must update their email addresses directly via MFA. MassHealth will no longer make these modifications.
If you have not yet migrated to MFA, MassHealth strongly encourages you to do so as soon as possible. Effective October 20, MassHealth will begin to migrate legacy users that have not yet transitioned to MFA. Affected users will be migrated over the next several months through mid-December 2024. Organizations that have been approved to utilize robotics processing automation will not be migrated at this time.
